Matthew Tillett is lead portfolio manager for Brunner. He is also the lead portfolio manager on the UK Opportunities strategy. Prior to joining AllianzGI, Matthew worked at Datamonitor and the Office for National Statistics. He graduated from Bristol University with a first class degree in Economics and Economic History. He also holds a masters (with distinction) in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics. Matthew holds the IMC designation and is a CFA® charterholder.

He joined Halma in 2018, having previously worked for over 20 years in a number of other investor relations roles in companies including Worldpay, Tate & Lyle, Cadbury Schweppes and Lloyds Banking Group. Before moving to investor relations, he was a corporate broker in the City, advising a wide range of companies on their interactions with the equity markets. He graduated from St Catharine’s College, Cambridge in the late ‘80s with a degree in English.

Its patented technology is unique in combining in one material, a mix of toughness and resistance to abrasion, erosion and corrosion; together with the ability to coat accurately interior surfaces and complex geometries. The material is proven to offer dramatic improvements in component life, particularly when applied to components that operate in very aggressive environments. This results in cost savings through reduced downtime and increased operational efficiency. Customers include leading companies operating in the energy sectors, valve and pump manufacturing, precision engineering and aerospace industries.

Speaker Bio: Appointed Chief Executive Officer on 1st September 2012. Philip is a member of the Intellectual Property Committee and the Sustainability & Risk Committee. Philip has an executive general management career spanning more than 40 years, the last 30 years at board level in companies predominantly within the metals and engineering sector. His career includes Manufacturing Director at DSF Refractories, Divisional Managing Director at MS International plc, Senior Vice President Metals Division at Firth Rixson Ltd, Executive Vice President at Rolls-Royce plc and CEO of Materials Advantage Group. Prior to this he held senior operational roles at the British Steel Corporation and Sheffield Forgemasters. He holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester and an MSc in Advanced Manufacturing Management. Philip is a Chartered Engineer, European Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in engineering and manufacturing industries as well as international, general and commercial management experience
