Shirlington Running Club 5K Weekly Meetup
Shirlington Running Club (SRC) is a FREE 501(c)7 club for anyone interested in walking, jogging and running followed by a social happy hour. Here you will meet new friends in a great social environment with a club that is dedicated to supporting local community activities. Beginning on June 16th, our weekly run will depart from Samuel Beckett's Irish Pub located in the Village at Shirlington, just a short distance from Bungalow. You can find us upstairs before and after the run, every Tuesday at 6:30 PM. Currently we are running the summer 5K loop followed by our famous Happy Hour! Our continuously growing group refreshes afterwards with members only drink and food specials. Now in our 6th year and over 75,000 miles, SRC is now incorporated and has achieved 501(c)7 status. All are welcome from the walkers, joggers, runners, and even the elite marathoner. All ages, two and four legs, DC Metro area residents and visitors. Enjoy a great work-out and meet new people with like interests. Every Tuesday night, rain or shine! For more information visit our website at ( or on Facebook at (

What we're about

EVERY TUESDAY @ 6:30 PM at The Bungalow Sports Grill!

Join the Official site of the Shirlington Running Club (SRC), a FREE club for all those interested in both running and socializing. The SRC meets every Tuesday at 6:30 PM at Samuel Beckett's Irish Pub in the Shirlington Village.

The SRC was founded in 2009 by VA residents Mirentxu Meyer and Shirley Santos, for like-minded people with social interests. Inspired by our founders, the goals of SRC are to promote fitness and build a sense of community. With currently over 2,800 members, the SRC meets every Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM at Samuel Beckett's to run a 5K summer route (6K in the winter), and hosts a post-run happy hour by savoring the flavors of Shirlington’s famous Samuel Beckett's and socializing until the wee hours of the night! Though not all of the members turn out weekly, the SRC’s weekly attendance always surpasses 100 people no matter what time of the year or what the weather. Members receive an SRC tech running shirt after accomplishing 10 runs and another long sleeve tech after their 100th run. Club membership is offered for free thanks to the group’s success in attracting local sponsors including Pacers Running Stores, Samuel Beckett's, and the Energy Club. In addition to fostering a community and family feel, SRC brings its members together throughout the year with other neighborhood events, sport activities, and volunteer opportunities.

Find us by the pool tables for check-ins and registration. We welcome all levels of runners, from the beginners to the experienced marathoner, at all ages, and from all locations. What a better way to get a work out in and meet new people with like interests in the area.

The SRC hopes to see you this Tuesday night, rain or shine! For more information please visit our website at ( and feel free to join our Facebook Group at .

*Once the time changes, we will be utilizing the winter route and for everyone’s safety, it is necessary to wear reflective gear and/or headlamps.
