What we're about

Hi all, I’m Holi, I am not a counsellor, but I have a few miles on my tires, I have experienced many different types of abuse from my childhood through to my adulthood in many different ways.

It has become apparent to me lately, that sometimes one on one counselling can leave a victim feeling a bit misunderstood and despite a counsellors good intentions and friends and families good intentions, one can be left feeling judged and alone.

I wanted to set up a group for both men and women who have suffered from an abusive relationship or even who are still suffering. To find supper and strength and most importantly validation by sharing stories with others.

It’s a difficult and delicate road to escape (assuming you have or even want to at the moment) but just sharing and not feeling alone can do SO much for our inner strength. I want to create that place. I have enquired to a local village hall for pricing . I envisage it as tea/coffee and biscuits one weeknight each week and having a theme each week. I am happy to lead these meetings and also to set them up. But I would like to know if anyone would be interested in attending because otherwise there is no reason for me to do it. It will cost money (although not a huge amount I think between 8-10 pounds per evening) so I was thinking of charging around £2 each just to cover the cost and coffees . With meeting sizes being no bigger than 15-20 people for intimacy and the meeting lasting 2 hours so everyone can have plenty of time and not feel rushed.

Please let me know if you’d be interested of an evening starting in October and if we get enough people, I’ll do the rest!

I look forward to meeting you all and creating a safe and supportive space.
