We're a unique and active group of friendly supportive photographers, beginners to advanced, with all kinds of cameras. We do much more than just "visit" and shoot events. We have educational programs to learn about photography and editing; creative online challenges; occasional informative meetings; FLASH E-mails with information and tips; have our own exhibit; do special "road trips" (NY, ME, MA, VT, NH, Paris;) have two Facebook pages; focus on techniques at each shoot; host Canon EOL presenters; create our own cool "sets". We do portraits, light painting; a beach studio for a day; B & W; abandoned; events to practice HDR, panoramas, panning; beginner workshops to learn exposure; etc.; technical and online creative challenges; printing and framing; slideshows; playing with photos; Photoshop; Lightroom. Have sets based on movies ("King Kong Takes New Haven," for example.)
At meetings we teach and share. We are one of only two CT Meetups that belongs to the NECCC (New England Council of Camera Clubs) which enriches us with opportunities. We offer a free courtesy registration to its annual July conference each year. Hunt's Photo & Video, the largest camera store chain in New England, is a sponsor.
Vermont, Paris, Berkshires, glassblowing, Acadia National Park, Adirondack Balloon Festival, Boston, NYC, seal and eagle watches, creative original sets, car shows, abandoned, flowers, discovering towns, New Hampshire, Newport... we're always looking new subjects and innovative ideas. We share, socialize, and have a great time.
REASONS FOR THE MINIMAL DUES: Meetup dues, membership in the New England Council of Camera Clubs, other administrative costs, supplies, props, gas for scouting event locations, fees, banner, name tags, some speaker fees, organizer expenses, etc.
