Skeet Shooting at Amelia Island Shot Gun Sports

Sat 12/8, 10:00am, Skeet Shooting at Amelia Island Shot Gun Sports:

It's time for something entirely new. Here's your opportunity to shoot things and destroy them, old-time Florida style. We'll be assembling at the Amelia Island Shot Gun Sports Club in Yulee, FL for a late morning skeet shoot. A "round" of skeet consists of 25 clay pigeons launched from the left, right and center of the field. You'll only get a shot or two before calling for your next pigeon so aim fast! The fine folks at Amelia Island Shot Gun Sports will supply everything we need for a safe and fun event. All you need bring is sunscreen, bug spray and a comfortable pair of sunglasses or safety glasses (eye protection is required). For those of you without eye protection, the club will have a few pair of safety glasses we can borrow. Based on a turnout of 21 Sidetrackers the cost is $25 per person. If we have fewer members attend we'll adjust the per person cost upward pro-rata. The event should take about two hours so we should be good and hungry for lunch afterward. (http://www.ameliashotgunsports).   We'll meet in front of Ross' at the River City Market Place (by JIA) Saturday morning at 9:15 to arrange a carpool to the Gun Club. After a fun morning of armed destruction, we'll have lunch at Pepper's Mexican Bistro (http://peppersmexican.com/menus/fernandina-beach) on Centre Street in Fernandina ("On the island" as locals say). They have good food at moderate prices as well as a full bar and lots of TVs with the game on. Leader: Owen Musselwhite[masked](cell).

ADDENDUM:   We're limiting this to 21 attendees.  However, we encourage you to join a waiting list if you want to go.   We can work with the Amelia Shot Gun Sports club to accomodate more people if we have more interested in attending.   Thanks, Owen.

A “Guest Release and Indemnity Agreement” form must be signed for each event.  Blank waivers will be available at the event.  However, please help reduce the registration time prior to the event by printing the liability waiver (Form-GuestWaiver.pdf) and turning in your completed/signed form to the trip leader at the event.  The Guest Release is not required for members who have signed the annual waiver and paid the $15 annual fee.  Members are covered by our supplemental insurance policy.

The staff and equipment at Amelia Island Shotgun Sports are world class! They made everything so easy and fun! The course - basically shot gun golf - was clean, functional and felt dafe (as a gun range can be).

I'm looking forward to getting outside and having a "blast" tomorrow. I have shot skeet off and on for about 5 years and I can attest it is fun, safe and doesn't take great skill. Just remember safety first.

I live on Amelia Island, so I'd like to just meet the group at the facility. I'll plan to be there a little before 10am.
