For anyone interested in leading hikes
To ensure that our hikes, backpacks, service projects and other outings are both enjoyable and as safe as possible, the Sierra Club requires that all Sierra Club hike leaders have first aid certification and that they take Outings Leader Training (OLT) 101.
If you are interested in becoming a hike leader or assistant hike leader or are a current leader who needs a refresher, please mark your calendar and plan to attend this first aid class on Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. OLT 101 Training will start at 1:30 p.m. and run until approximately 4:00 p.m.
We will conduct the training at the Sierra Club in the second floor conference room located at 202 E. McDowell Rd (Quality Inn & Suites complex) in Phoenix. The cost is $25 per person for First Aid and there is no charge for OLT101. Scholarships are also available. To sign up or to ask questions, please contact Sandy Bahr at (602)[masked] or [masked]. The deadline to r.s.v.p. is January 15th! We hope you can make it.
