Rare and Endangered Florida Wildflowers - Annual Joint Meeting

Our July meeting is our annual joint meeting with Tampa Audubon and Suncoast Native Plant Society so we move it to Nature's Classroom to accommodate the big crowd. From 4-6 PM we have a guided tour of the grounds, a potluck dinner is from 6-7 PM and at 7 PM our program begins.

Renowned Florida naturalist, Roger Hammer, will bring you on a photographic and informational journey to discover the rare and endangered wildflowers of Florida, including some special orchids. A retired senior naturalist for the Miami-Dade Parks Department, and author of several popular guides to the wildflowers of southern Florida, Roger Hammer is well versed in endangered plants, and is a highly sought after speaker. His entertaining and informative programs are enriched with his beautiful photography.

There will also be a book sale and a native plant auction. So bring your favorite dinner dish, salads or dessert to share and join the fun. We look forward to seeing you at this great event.

(Hike is optional; we provide beverages)

Nature's Classroom is just off Morris Bridge Rd (Fletcher Ave. Exit off I-75), east of I-75. Take I-75 to Fletcher Ave, head east on Fletcher (name changes to Morris Bridge). Verges Road is on your left about a mile from I-75.

The only problem I see with arriving a little late is finding where the group is. Usually I start with the animal compound, then we go to the classroom where the reptiles are and then down the boardwalk and to the river and back. This is my plan unless we run into a glitch.
