Pichetti Ranch Hike

Excellent views of the Stevens Creek reservoir, sights and sounds of running creeks if there is any water left in them, a few cotton tails, possible peacock or two. Did I get your attention? Then join me on this 5 Mile 800 ft elevation hike in Cupertino. Expect brisk pace and a few somewhat steep inclines. Not intended for beginner hikers. Please note that the forecast is for hot weather. Dress in layered clothing and to the weather, bring sun protection, sturdy shoes and water. DIRECTIONS: Exit Foothill Expressway from Highway 280, travel 3.5 miles southwest (toward the mountains) on Foothill Boulevard/Stevens Canyon Road. Turn right on Montebello Road and drive six-tenths of a mile to the parking area, on the left. Leader: Ali Shapourian

Great views! Was I the only one who wine-tasted?

I really enjoyed the experience. Thank you, Ali for your leadership. I'm looking forward to more hiking in the future.

Patricia, I am glad you had a good time. I am happy to report that the hike went without a hitch. Some of the doubters joined us and most likely had a reasonable time.

Far from doubting - near the end of the hike, Ali and myself were walking together, and we were discussing if any of the rest of you wondered why Ali-Mani was coming after yall :) LoL, Just kidding.

In addition to meetup, Sierra also post the event at their newsletter. It's hard to make the last minute schedule change. I am glad that leader stick with the original schedule. Thanks Ali and I had a good time again. Met a few good friends at the hike too. :)

Thanks for the heads up about the shade. I was thinking lots of bare, open trails like Fremont Older. I'm going to try to catch up with you all.

So what is the final start time. Is there a contact phone number just in case I need help to find the place?

Folks, this event was posted mid-week with Sierra Club. No time change. Everyone is an adult here and make their own decision. Having said that the trail is about 70% shaded. If you choose to come dress in light color and bring a hat, and plenty of water.

I agree with the others about an earlier start time. I went on a Sierra hike yesterday and one person got ill from the heat,

So what is the final status - are we car pooling, or not? Fred: I left you a VM - it said you might need 2 weeks to get the message [shaking head] Oh, well!

Is anyone concerned about the extreme temperatures forecast for tomorrow. If the hike is all exposed with little shade, I'll have to forgo it.

I don't mind the start time, the lack of trees and shade though...

I agree with Amber and Fred, we could start the hike between 6 and 7AM, may be the latest at 7:30
