Join the Loma Prieta Sierra Singles for this about 5-7 mile,~ 775 ft elevation gain hike in Arastradero Preserve. This Wed 8/21 hike is a fast paced conditioning hike with only brief stops at trail junctions. This is NOT a beginner hike, and since we still have a bit of daylight, it could be from 5-7 miles, depending on how the group feels. We will hike through mostly open grass land and oak woods. We will possibly see some wild turkeys and deer. There will be a steep hill at the beginning to get your engine warmed up and the remainder of the hike is gentle ups and downs.
Dress to the weather and in layers, bring water and a smile to share.
NOTE: NO DOGS as some of the trails are closed due to aggressive coyotes. We are in no danger, however.
Optional for the group to grab a bite to eat afterwards.
Meeting Location: We will meet at the far end of the parking lot near the soccer field (west end). I would like to leave for the hike at 6:15pm.
Directions to the Alpine Inn: Try Google Maps and input -- Alpine Inn, Alpine Road, Portola Valley, CA
Or: exit Hwy 280 at Alpine Rd. and go South (toward the hills) 1.9 miles. Turn left on Arastradero Rd. (the first left after Westridge) and make an immediate
right turn into the parking lot.
