You will be required to sign a Sierra Club waiver. Trip leader: Ron Haines,[masked], [masked] . This is a leisurely two-hour paddle in the backwaters of an urban park in central Palm Beach County. Use the Congress Avenue entrance to the park. Go straight through the stop sign and follow the directions to 'PBSO Bike Unit.' The road curves right and then left and then heads straight east. On the right is a canal and on the left is Square Lake and a fishing dock. Just past the dock take a left through the gap in the wooden fence. You will see a grassy area on your right and a sandy spot at the water. This is the launch place. Paddle the South Fork of the St. Lucie River in Stuart

Welcome to an outing sponsored by the Loxahatchee Group of the Sierra Club. The suggested donation for this event is $3 for Sierra Club members and $5 for nonmembers, correct change appreciated. You will be required to sign a Sierra Club waiver. Trip leader: Ron Haines,[masked], [masked] . We will be paddling about three hours on this beautiful, pristine stream near Stuart. It becomes increasingly scenic and narrow as you paddle. We'll stop at a remote picnic site and then paddle back to the starting point. Bring drink and food as you desire. This trip is very gentle and suitable for beginners with the stamina to paddle for three hours. We will meet at the boat ramp at Hosford Park, 7474 SW Gaines Ave, Stuart, FL. Be ready to shove off at 10 am please. From I-95 go east on Kanner Highway (State Road 76) to SE Cove Road (second light I think) and take a right, then another quick right onto SW Gaines Ave. Watch for park on your right. There is no porta-potty on the trip or at the launch. There are some convenience store/fast food outlets at the first light east of 95. Must bring: whistle, ten feet of rope and your PFD. If you need to cancel the day of the event or if you are running late, you MUST call or text to[masked]. If you do not do this you will be marked as a no show, which may affect your participation in future trips.
