The Arctic Refuge is America’s last true wilderness, and as public land, it belongs to all of us. Seismic testing in the Refuge’s delicate coastal plain will cause huge impacts; major concerns are the altering of migration patterns for caribou, and disruption of polar bear denning, and further degradation of the Gwich’in culture. Please join us for an informative rally to learn more about the threats, and more importantly, what YOU can do to help prevent harm to threatened polar bears, the undermining the human rights of the Gwich’in Nation, and destroying our country’s last great wilderness. We will have a presentation on the topic, followed by a short video, as well as “Action Tables” where you can take a few moments to make sure your voice is heard; we will have petitions, postcards, and recommended material, links and hashtags for social media to ensure the message gets out. Coffee/Tea and light refreshments will be served Presentations will begin promptly at 10 a.m. Plan to spend an hour making a difference for our planet.
