Emile Fiesler’s presentation ” The Palos Verdes Peninsula Intimately”. This interactive slideshow lecture will focus on little known aspects of the fauna and flora of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The peninsula hosts various nature preserves, including the largest open space between the Santa Monica Mountains and southern Orange County. Its birds, and most of its flora, are reasonably well studied and documented, but some reptiles & amphibians, and especially most insects, arachnids, and gastropods are little known. Intimate close-ups will be shown of these animals, and a few plants, accompanied by information about their relationships and ecology. Questions and dialog are encouraged. Join us from 7-9 p.m. in the Community Room of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Library, 701 Silver Spur Road, Rolling Hills Estates, across from Deep Valley Drive. Refreshments will be served. Contact Program Chair Joyce White 310-383-5247 if you’d like more information.
