Members of the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC) represent over 70% of the worldwide automotive market share and 60% of the worldwide smartphone market share. MirrorLink is the first standard released by the CCC and aims, among other things, to allow developers to build applications that run on a smartphone and can be used safely in a car. This Meetup will introduce both the CCC and MirrorLink, and allow time for questions from the audience.
Alfred Tom is Chair of the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC) Ecosystem Work Group which is responsible for product marketing, driver workload processes, marketing communications, developer relations, and trademarks. He both an investment analyst and researcher at General Motors. Positions prior to GM include co-founder of Kantan Wireless, a removable wireless module company, co-founder of Alt5, a RPG social network, and software engineer at Apple working on the Newton PDA. He has a bachelors in mechanical engineering from MIT, a masters in electrical engineering from Stanford, and an MBA from UCLA.
