Does anyone here have experience with both buying bitcoin and redeeming bitcoin for dollars through one of the exchanges back to your bank account such as by using coinbase? I'm concerned about the stories I've heard where business owners who accept bitcoin have had their US bank accounts terminated. There is also one account of a person who redeemed 5 bitcoins for dollars who had her bank account frozen for 15 days. Any info on this one way or the other would be welcome. Thanks. Also, do you have to redeem a whole bitcoin or can you redeem a fraction of a bitcoin (I already know you can BUY a fraction of a bitcoin).

I think that for now I will wait on investing in Bitcoin until the Facebook Brothers (who sued MZ for not giving them their share when they started FB) launch their Bitcoin ETF. They filed with the SEC in summer of 2013, so I guess that the ETF should launch no later than August 2014. I'm betting that the Bitcoin ETF will be the best performing stock in history and I will be saving all of my dimes and quarters before August 2014. See ya!

Avoid counterparty risk by trading locally, person to person. Just bring a "Buying" or "Selling" sign to the meetup. ;-)
