Do you work in robotics, and where?

Yes, at the Volkswagen Group of America Electronics Research Lab (in Belmont, CA).

Have you studied robotics, and where?

I have studied aspects of robotics, such as computer vision. However, I have not received a university degree in robotics.

What is your interest in Silicon Valley Robotics?

My interest is both personal, professional, and also for my nephew. Personally, I want to expand from fiddling around with the Asus Xtion and add it to a mobile base. Professionally I'd like to further explore the applicability of my specific experience in automotive robotics more generally. As for my nephew, I also attend Homebrew Robotics Club to find ways to nurture his interest. Not sure if Silicon Valley Robotics does anything in this last area.

My interest in robotics started with a RoboCup event held at CMU in 2004. I returned to robotics in 2008, working on the Autonomous Valet Parking project at the Electronics Research Lab. Since then I've worked on other autonomous driving topics.
