Help Feed the Hungry at Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen ENC

Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen, a non-profit organization has been serving the working poor, families, homeless and seniors living in and around the downtown and East Side of San Jose for over 32 years. What began as a simple first meal of fish and bread for 11 adults and 15 children has grown to nearly 500 meals per day, served with dignity. These no-cost hot meals are offered to our clients in a safe, caring, and friendly environment.

As a volunteer at Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen at the Eastside Neighborhood Center (ENC), you will be asked to help with all aspects of the meals, including setting up our dining room for dinner, preparing the meal, serving and clean up. You must be able to help for the entire 2 1/2 hour shift starting from 3:30pm-6:00pm.  Please do not arrive late as it puts behind the entire kitchen and leave your valuables at home- such as purse, laptop, ipod, etc.

*If you RSVP "Yes" to this event please email me, Melisa, immediately after with your full name, phone #, & email address to confirm your attendance and to submit to the volunteer coordinator at Loaves & Fishes.  The organization does not accept walk-on volunteers.  Your spot is NOT confirmed until I receive your info and you will be placed on the Waitlist in order to give your spot to those volunteers waiting and eager to serve.  Any questions/concerns please contact me.

Parking: You can use any open spot on the streets around the building, and there is a small lot behind the building off of Plaza de Guadalupe. If this is your first time coming to this location or you are unfamiliar with the area, we recommend coming early to ensure you are on time for the start of your shift.
