WHAT: FUN, FUN, FUN !!! A chance to paddle, and socialize. Great for beginners, with rentals available.

We know of a few friends and partners that aren't paddling, but simply hanging there next to the harbor enjoying the fresh air.

WHEN: Come join us for the annual WSK picnic on Sunday, July 28th in Princeton Harbor / Half Moon Bay.

SPONSOR: Our sponsor this year is Half Moon Bay Kayak (HMBK). There will be sit-on-top kayaks and other boats available for rent. Standard rental rates $25/hour ($75/day), which include boat, paddle, life jacket, wet suit and paddle jacket.

If you are planning to rent a boat for the picnic, please arrange that directly with Half Moon Bay Kayak (HMBK). If you want a sit-on-top you can reserve that on their web site (http://www.hmbkayak.com). If you want a closed-deck boat (sit-inside) you must call them to arrange the rental (650–773–6101). They tell me that on summer weekends reservations are a good idea.

LOCATION: HMBK at Pillar Point Harbor - Off Pillar Point Harbor Blvd.

TIME: 10:00 am on the water for the 'in-the-harbor' paddle (allow 30 – 45 minutes before that to go through waiver, rental and gearing-up process with HMBK). Around 12:45, most of the different paddles will be back, and we'll start with appetizers for our world-famous WSK potluck.

PADDLES: We always have paddles suitable from novice through advanced-intermediate. The in-the-harbor paddle is about 3 miles and is about 1 1/2 hours of paddling, with a stop on the west beach to look at the Mavericks surf break. Other longer paddles will be listed as we get closer.

WHAT TO BRING:

For paddling, bring water-friendly shoes and clothing (synthetic, not cotton), water, sunscreen, hat, dry clothes to change into, and maybe an energy bar/ small snack. Depending on conditions, in-the-harbor paddlers may want a wet suit/paddle jacket as well, which are available from HMBK when renting a boat.

For picnic, when you RSVP, let us know what dish you might bring to the potluck to share. If you don’t know, chime in with a comment later. Below only as idea, based on your last name (but if you've got a favorite dish, by all means bring that).

- A - D: desserts
- E - J: appetizers
- K - P: main dishes
- Q - Z: salad

Bring your folding chairs. WSK provides the soft drinks and plates and utensils, but BYOB (...Beer).

PARKING: Short term parking available next to HMBK in small parking lot while dropping things, then move your car back to one of the large parking lots up the hill.

As a reminder, there is no regular club meeting in July, so we'll see you at the picnic!
