  • The center is forming a small weekly support group. It is a process group targeted to those who have become paralyzed with fear and worry of how they can thrive as human beings under a Donald Trump Administration. The group's intention is emotional support; however, political discourse given the nature of the group will be allowed. Its main purpose is to help those who need to share their emotional discomfort with others in a safe place and also share ideas and methods for eudaimonia (human thriving) under the condition of distress with a governing Trump administration. The group itself will not take political action. It is a meeting place of individuals who are there to process their individual response both public and personal.

As the facilitator, I will help focus the groups discourse on needs and drives within the domains of health, family, career, authority, finance, humanism, theory, towards eudaimonia (human thriving). We will couple this awareness with attention to where gender, race, class, environment, LGBTQ, economic, human rights and justice intersect. In this way, participants can overcome being paralyzed with fear, and can address their inhibitions, denials, and disavows in relationship to Trump's election towards continuing to pursue the good life as they define that for themselves while processing and affirming the well-being of others within the community.

If you are afraid, you will be delighted what a few months of processing that distress in a group focusing on a multi-domain intersectional response while deeply respecting individual choice. There will be a charge of $10 for participation to offset expenses. There is only room for 12 participants. Please sign up here if you are interested in participating. You can call John Moody (213)[masked] for further details.

I am sorry you can't attend. We run a philosophical inquiry group on Tuesday nights once a month and if you are available you will be in good company. That event is free to the public who sign up here and you will find that all in attendance are sharing similar trepidations and concerns for the next four years.
