What we're about

PACE OF HIKES/WALKS WILL BE SLOWER THAN OTHER MEETUP GROUPS, about 2 mph.

Members must be "over 50" to join. Hikers & kayakers who want to relax and enjoy the outings.

If you're not able or not willing to go at a slower pace, please don't sign up for our hikes. Seriously, folks, there are plenty of great hiking groups out there for faster people. That is NOT what this group is for.

This doesn't mean that some of the hikers go really fast and then do the impatient "stop and wait" for the others. . Plan on stopping a few times on big hills, if needed. If there are dogs, we will stop to water them when needed. The event host sets the pace, not individual members.

If that's not what you want to do, you won't like this group.

DOGS: Well behaved, friendly dogs are usually okay, except in parks that do not allow dogs. No retractable leashes, short leash only. No unneutered male dogs. Aggressive dogs will be asked to leave group and walk alone.

LEARN TO USE MEETUP FEATURES to make this work for you. The event description should give you all the details you need. Meetup mapping or GPS is usually good for getting you to the park, then the event description will give you directions to correct parking lot. Some of our locations have no cell reception.

RSVP's: keep your RSVP updated if you have a change of plans. Be considerate of your fellow group members. Three "no shows" = removal from group.

THIS IS NOT A DATING GROUP. Other great singles groups on meetup for that.

Leave any negative stuff at home. Keep it positive. No politics, no griping about your nasty "ex" or your crappy relatives.

This group is not affiliated with any other Silver Sneakers groups.

There may be a $10 membership fee required at future date. No fee at this time to join.
