Mid year hackfest (SilverStripe Wellington)!

**IMPORTANT NOTE**
To get access please txt Cam on[masked] 0351.

It's that time again... time to get together and work on SilverStripe core improvements, modules and your own projects.

We also encourage new users to pop along if you need some help getting started or setup on your local machine using best practices (Cam our Community Awesomeness Manager will be around to give you a hand).

For more seasoned SilverStripers we'll look to set some areas of the 3.2 version of SilverStripe (the next future version) that you might be able to work on or any issues and bugs in the current 3.1 version

Please leave us some comments to let us know what you might like to see or do at the hackfest.

We will also be running a parallel hackfest on the same day up in the SilverStripe Auckland offices (http://www.meetup.com/SilverStripe-Auckland/events/190642722/).

Happy hacking.

I'm sorry, I had to change my RSVP to No as I have other events colliding tomorrow which magically didn't disappear as I hoped.
I'm definitely looking forward the output.

What I was struggling with lately and maybe can be addressed tomorrow too was modules tagging. Currently only CMS and framework can be used with Composer with specified version tag, lots of other modules need to be just dev-master as there is no tag at all. The main issue behind is that Composer clones such dependencies instead of downloading and caching them so every install fetches the code again and again.

ok, --prefer-dist switch for composer update or composer install helps to cache the resources, but having a proper tag/releases would still be cool :-)

Michal, would you be interested in writing up a section for the documentation about this point? I'm happy to help with editing and making sure it gets online in the current docs.

I'm currently looking into documentation issues, I would like to run a facilitated discussion around how we might improve them and perhaps look to map out a set of categories/taxonomy to help reorganise the docs in a more meaningful way.

Yep. That would be good - I have been working on this recently - a little more progress but will try reinstalling again shortly.

It would be great if we could somehow include us Auckland folk in this, especially since we clearly have the smarter team up here :P

Perhaps a skype linkup or something.

Yes a great idea. I'll see if we can sync this up and get a listing on the AK meetup page.
