I must be honest. The reason that I have started this group is completely selfish. I have two local friends with whom I share a passion for reading. We exchange book titles, reviews and suggestions as well as discussions, sometimes deep, almost always with a smile. Simply put, I want more. Yes, at the heart of this group is a friendship between three women who cherish their similarities and embrace their differences, but I want others to enjoy the fun and friendship that we share.
Yes, there are a plethora of quality reading groups throughout the Vegas Valley, but again, I am being selfish. As a full-time grandmother, I only have certain days of the week to be out and about. The other groups just don't meet my criteria. (These meetings will be held on the second Thursday of every month).
Expect a variety of reading material in a wide range of genres. Expect lots of laughter. Expect conversations that might be intellectually challenging at one moment and tongue in cheek at the next. You might even want to expect an off color joke from time to time. Expect a laid back approach and a warm welcome. Expect your input to be respected and appreciated. We want you to be a booker too!!
