Hey guys, I probably can't make it tonight but I wanted to add to the discussion: - the best talks in my experience (a dozen conferences, hundreds of meetups) are those based on actual in-production experience so you should seek speakers with that experience and ask them to talk about it; and not toy problems ("here's how I handle 200MB in Redshift") but real production ("here's how we tackle our 50TB/day ETL and 1,500 tech illiterate users")

    - if there aren't enough Redshift speakers it might be worth inviting other "big data" stack speakers as you see the same issues crop up in most infrastructure choices.

    - loads of people transit through SG, it's worth asking global experts if they will so we can add a talk.

Suggested talk subjects: how to tackle losing some of the guarantees offered by Postgres as you move to Redshift (e.g. no UNIQUE constraints, limited regex, limit of 9,900 tables); scalability both of query speed but most importantly of ETL.

I am unable to attend the 21/03 event due to an existing business travel commitment. I am however keen to attend future events. I may even be able to provide a venue for one of the future events.

Hello Steve, Thanks for your note. It's unfortunate that you can not make it for this one. We all will look forward in the next one. Have a great trip. Thanks.
