We will begin to discover delight and feelings of gratitude whilst exploring what it means to move mindfully, allowing new ways of being in the world to surface. A qualified and registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist (ADMP, UK), with a background in Psychology and Dance, Shi Han has worked therapeutically, both in groups and individually, with clients across a spectrum of emotional needs. She was awarded Distinction for her Master’s thesis which explored beginners’ subjective experiences of cultivating Mindfulness. Her commitment is in helping people develop inner security and growth as a safe place to explore the outer realities of life. But did you know that compassion, or loving-kindness meditation, is one of the simplest ways to meditate? That’s because it evokes a very natural state in us human beings which is kindness. Loving-kindness meditation focuses on developing our goodwill, kindness and warmth not just towards others but it also helps us to harness our self-compassion. It is only when we learn to love , be gentle and forgive ourselves can we cultivate the right attitude toward others too. In this very special session, learn how to draw yourself deeper inwards during your meditation with the help of mudras too! Mudras are the use of hand gestures during meditation that carry specific goals of channeling your body’s energy flow. To make things more interesting for our ever-curious minds, this coming Thursday, we will be practising 2-point Meditation. In this meditation created by Darius Soon (derived from a healing technique), the idea is that the mind concentrates far better when there is not one, but two objects to focus on. Research has shown that our minds get distracted every 3 minutes, and it may take about 25 minutes to re-establish our attention. Having 2 objects for our minds to bounce between may be just the thing we need to improve our meditation concentration and mindfulness! Chronic thinkers out there, we hear you because some of us in the rat race still find it hard to concentrate with meditation styles that require using a single focus. When the meditation is done correctly, one quickly experiences feelings of bliss, ecstasy and euphoria. In fact, this way of meditation is one of the fastest methods known by Darius to experience those feelings. Besides helping to achieve stillness and this meditation technique is also a great healing tool. Come and let your mind bliss out! You deserve it! Darius is a full-time medical intuitive who is able to sense the physical conditions affecting a person, the causes and solutions for their problems.
