‘So what’s next?’, you wondered. You are gay (openly or closeted), getting older and wiser, your straight friends are married and are having babies and living entirely different lives than you despite the occasional meetups. Also, all of a sudden, you feel that you are done playing the role of the token gay guy in your close circle of well-meaning straight friends or are done being the go-to gay son who fixes everything in your family. You also can’t keep up with the constant late night partying and hookups and the craving for societal validation that once upon a time, kinda made sense to you. To you, life right now feels kinda flat and has gone on a plateau mode or you feel kinda ‘trapped’ or jaded one way or another. If you can resonate with any of the above issues, this meet up group might just be the one for you. This group is where gay men aged 35 years old and above, regardless of race, religion, nationality, educational level, occupation, body size, physical ability and political inclination can get together, participate or organise social activities and continue to enjoy life meaningfully. You must be okay communicating in English, spoken or written (esp for persons with speaking / hearing disabilities) during the meetups and forum discussions. This is a meetup group NOT set up for the purposes of having sex hook-ups and binge drinking sessions. Been there, done that or perhaps suitable for some other meet up groups ;) Rather this is a group where members could organise social gatherings, big or small, like for instance outdoor activities like nature trekking or indoor ones like just having afternoon tea or coffee (or just plain water) as long as these activities can allow us to indulge in sensible chats amongst ourselves about life and general stuff faced by mature gay men living in Singapore. Here’s a meetup grp, where we could share our stories, could just listen and support one another and could learn something meaningful through our activities. In this group, we do not place any judgment on other members’ beliefs. If you have a good sense of humour and are open to this kind of activities and the like, join us. Just remember, you are not alone on continuing this incredible journey called Life. Cheers!
