NTU FastForward is NTU's very own board gaming club! For nearly a decade, we have strived to bring joy to fellow NTU students through tabletop gaming.

We are a student initiated society in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The society aims to procure, promote and encourage the culture of board game playing, especially amongst the students of NTU. FastForward aims to become a common ground to bring people together through memorable experiences that inspire laughter and cheering while engaging the mind. Not restricted strictly to just board games, the society also plays other forms of indoor games.

Purpose of Board Gaming

Games are an essential form of leisure to take a step away from work and board gaming is one of the best ways to relax, especially so in a group. Living in a complex society, advantages of board gaming is crucial to leading a successful social and academic life: it encourages brain stimulation; it strengthens bonds between friends; it harnesses creative thinking; it builds one's character; it creates social interaction and networking opportunities; and last and also most importantly, it is wicked fun!

A study in the New England Journal of Medicine found that challenging your brain with mentally stimulating leisure activities (including playing board games or cards, doing crossword puzzles, reading, writing and playing musical instruments) is great for the mind.

In essence, board games are recognized as being excellent tools for encouraging social interaction, reliefing stress, learning valuable life skills and enriching oneself amongst people from all works of life.
