An Invitation to be with God in outdoor love.
SOC is established on 1 Jan 2015 to celebrate the Jubilee year of Singapore as a Christian outdoor based fellowship. Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
Through the intricate details and magnificent beauty of all that God has made, we can “hear” His voice. How? By soaking in the wondrous creation of God – outdoor nature. By trekking on quiet routes we do not undertake in a busy being, we understand more of God’s greatness – God designed and spoke them all into existence. And we can listen for His voice.
Here at SOC, we invite believers to trek with us to discover this amazing presence of God and His creative being as we journey through the vastness of nature under the starry heaven and on earth. Emmanuel – He is with us.
Aside doing what we love, we endeavour to put into actions Jesus’ teaching on love. We at SOC seeks to incorporate such outreach programs in all our trekking trips as our gifts to grace others in needs as we are graced by Shalom – that trekking is beyond a physical activity. We want to nourish our God given souls to be hands for Him where we are – to bring His light to darkness in our journey to know Him.
This is our love as Christians with outdoor pursuits living in our tiny SG50 red dot, a blessed nation in Asia where high percentage of poor resides in places we trek in.
Hebrews 13:16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
We invite anyone who enjoy fellowshipping with outdoor Christians to this common journey of trekking in our walk on earth – as we prepare to meet our Lord in heaven.
Trekking is the beginning – we seek to encourage, to invite greater faith, to learn to love with differences and to build each one up - physically, mentally and spiritually.
Matthew 16:26 ESV For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?
What we do is simple. As we explore, we lend a helping hand. Each footstep we leave is a legacy for The Lord - to provide that a village may not have.
At SOC, we believe that everyone can use their God given hearts, talents & voices to inspire someone to great things for the Lord. We are never too small in God’s eyes to be His Hands.
At SOC we believe that changing just one life for The Lord can create a chain reaction that will change many more. This is the heart of Christian and Christ!
It's Easy to Start an Adventure with SOC!
Would you love to join the SOC? There are three ways that you can participate in our next adventure.
1. Join us on one of our local and overseas trips. Your travelling fee includes a direct donation to the local villagers who we will spend at least one day to few days helping in a variety of ways. We plan to be working with local Christian NGOs or churches to understand the real needs and how we at SOC can contribute on long term.
2. Donate directly to SOC. All of your donations will be earmarked for distribution to our next trip. You can find where we are going next by referencing our itinerary here on this website.
3. Spread the word about SOC in your churches and fellowships. Even if you cannot donate directly or join our team on our next opportunity to help, sharing the mission of SOC helps to create a larger team that has the goal of touching life for the Lord in darkness while worshipping and enjoying God in outdoor life.
Acts 20:35 ESV “In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
