Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is a contemporary swing revival band from Southern California.
Check them out for a taste on YouTube.
This group looks like a lot of fun for an evening of Holiday celebration. I'm putting together my Zoot Suit now and finding a feather for my big hat plus polishing my dance shoes. Anyone have spats I can borrow?
THERE ARE COSTS FOR THIS EVENT.
Tickets are $49.50 plus The Birchmere's current $5.50 service fee and available via their box office or Ticketmaster. I will swing by the box office directly as I have done for past concerts so if you want to avoid some Ticketmaster fees, I can buy you ticket(s), but would require the funds in advance (e.g. Paypal).
Curtain is 7:30PM.
While there are restaurants nearby, in order for us to sit together, a couple of us will have to arrive early and get early Line Numbers.
Numbers are issued at 5PM. Seating begins at 6PM. A group can enter on one number.
from the website FAQs:
"The Birchmere is general admission, with all seating done on a first come, first served basis. To keep the process orderly, we use Line Numbers, which are picked up at the box office upon arrival.
The Music Hall is all seated with tables. The Flex Stage is all standing unless otherwise stated, and then it would have limited seating.
At 5pm, when the Box Office opens, we begin handing out Line Numbers to customers as they come to the Box Office. At 6pm when the Music Hall doors open, we begin seating by Line Number (i.e. the first person in at 5pm will be the first person in the Music Hall at 6pm). *Line Numbers are NOT used for Flex Stage shows. Reserved seats are NOT available, except for artists’ guests and VIPs."
If you have never parked at The Birchmere, the venue is not visible from Mt Vernon Ave, but rather behind the businesses along the avenue so the driveway is easy to miss despite GPS and the big sign for The Birchmere. Check it out on satellite.
