Design and innovation for Exponentials
Robert Suarez (VS)
Rob Adams (NL)
During the Dutch Design Week Robert Suarez (MD Design at SU LABS) is over from the USA and will give a talk and mini workshop around designing for exponentials.
Exponential technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, synthetic biology and digital fabrication, to name a few, can enable the creation of sustainable solutions to difficult challenges related to education, energy, environment, food, global health, poverty, security, space and water. When designing for exponentially growing technologies, a few key practices can help increase the potential for success.
Rob Adams will talk about how many organizations have come to realize that just making improvements doesn’t cut it. Making improvements will yield better results in the near future, but doesn’t contribute to a sustainable future. Decision makers within companies however, are often improvers and don’t like the uncertainty of renewal. They employ the same tools used to make improvements and hope to accomplish renewal. This is a futile effort.
Improvement and renewal are completely different ball games. Accomplishing renewal requires a different organization that revolves around finding and developing future earning capacity instead of using the exact same model that is already in place. It requires an organization that focuses on Return on Learning instead of Return on Investment.
This evening Rob offers the insights and tools to accomplish renewal. To prevent a clash between an improve and renewal mindset, and making sure these work together towards a sustainable future.
Join us for this special evening session at the Innovation Hub in Eindhoven.
