The aim of this meet up is to create a friendly group enviroment to explore what stress actually is, how the body and mind reacts to stressful situations, and how mindfulness can allow us to be more skillful when dealing with life’s ups and downs. From pre-presentation nerves at work, to difficult conversations with someone who pushes all your emotional buttons, mindful awareness can really help. Participants will come away with practical tools they can use in their everyday lives. I will also briefly present the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course which starts on the 30th September. www.mbsr-mindfulness.com.

There are now over 30 years worth of scientific research that consistently show how mindfulness practices can enhance our physical and mental well-being.

Practicing mindfulness, and mindful meditation can improve:

Concentration, Creativity, Clarity of mind, Working memory, Emotional intelligence, Mental stamina, Sleep, Immune functioning, Relationships, Life satisfaction

And reduce:

Stress, Depression, Anxiety, Distress, Pain, Rumination, Tension

We will be doing some mindful practices during the session. No previous experience needed.

Emma Reynolds is an accredited MBSR teacher (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction). Emma is also trained in Paws B, a training to teach Mindfulness to children, from MiSP (Mindfulness in Schools Project, UK).
