Welcome back to our African Elephant at the Natural History Museum

  • Smithsonian Natural History Museum

Intersection of 10th Street and Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, DC (map)

  • The Rotunda, near .. well .. the elephant?
  • There's people, there's animals, architecture .. and it's warm! An on location drawing event that should have something for everyone! The African Elephant in the Rotunda has been undergoing a makeover for quite a while and is now open, along with a new learning exhibit. Several people said that they had Fridays off and available for sketching, and this is timed to be behind the metro commuters. Hope this works for folks. Elephants are a great starting point for drawing animals.

I'm merging this meeting into our regular catch up meetups, which we will be mostly doing on alternating Sundays at lunchtime.

Museums and/or Greenspring sound great to me! Sundays are tough for me in the summer because I'm out of town a lot on the weekends. But occasionally, like today, I am in town ona weekend. I'll do my best to make it if it gets scheduled!

One great location for this time of year is Green Springs. It's small enough you will find each other, but large enough and "tended" so that there is always interesting things. We have met there twice, so far. We usually start "at the gazebo"

Sunday early afternoon works for me. Either museum sounds good.
