Tour de Farms

You're invited to Slow Food Boston's Tour de Farms, a cycle tour of local farms!

Sunday, September 29th, noon to 4:30pm

Meet up and finish at the Concord Municipal Parking Lot on Keyes Road!

Join Slow Food Boston in welcoming the local fall harvest with our Tour de Farms.  You will travel by pedal-power, visiting several local Concord-Carlisle farms and experiencing a taste of Massachusetts fall flavors.

Tour de Farms riders will be specially welcomed onto each farm, hearing directly from the owners and operators about the history of their farms, the products they offer and sample their good, clean, fair food, which includes organic apples, roasted peppers, a pork sampling and maple syrup.

Tour de Farms is a unique opportunity to connect with local farmers, Slow Food Boston members, and food and biking enthusiasts. The afternoon promises to be a delight for the senses that you will not soon forget. Please register early as the event is limited to 60 riders.

Distance cycled will be about 12 miles start to end, and the cost to ride with the Tour de Farms is $20. Route maps will be distributed at the starting point in Concord.  We also encourage you to bring a reusable bag or bike basket in case you want to pick up some local products along the way.

Riders can bring their own bikes or get a rental from The Bikeway Source, 111 South Road, Bedford, for $24 1/2 day and $36.00 full 24 hours. They are open Saturday 10-6, Sunday 12-5. We strongly encourage all riders to wear helmets. Riders of all ages and experience are welcome, but please be aware we will be riding on main streets in Concord and Carlisle. Participants ride at their own risk!

Long distance rider option:  Minuteman Bikeway Trail from Somerville to Bedford (about 10 miles), to back roads to Concord Center (about 4 miles).

The ride will conclude with a gathering at the Concord Municipal Parking Lot for a Slow Food toast celebrating new friends and a great time with local cider, freshly made goat cheese, and bread from Nashoba Brook Bakery.  We look forward to seeing you there - let's ride!

Can I pay $40 for 2 tickets? There's no option to buy more than one ticket at a time...
