What we're about
Traditional Scottish, Irish and English Folk Music sessions at a slower pace. Ideal for beginner and intermediate players, but everyone wanting to play (+/- sing) welcome!
With facilitator (session lead). Sheet music allowed. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere and without an audience.
The sessions take place at the Members Hut, City Road Allotments, City Road, Dundee DD2 2BJ. The entrance gate to the allotment is on City Road just opposite Pitfour Street.
Sundays 5 -7 PM around once a month. They often follow folk concerts organised by the Dundee Acoustic Music Club (DAMC) at the Roseangle Café. Tea and coffee making facilities available. You could also bring your own bottle if in the mood.
Free participation but a small contribution (£1) for light and heating would be welcomed.
Please don't be put off by the appearingly low number of attendees: most participants of the Slow Sessions are not connected via Meetup. We usually have between 10 and 16 musicians coming together for each Slow Session :)
