We'll be riding to Saxapahaw this Saturday (Nov 9) at a steady-effort (easing on the climbs) pace of 18 mph. Starting near Green Level West & NC 55 at 11:00 a.m. using the following route:
80 miles w/ 3,400 ft. elevation gain
Although this is technically a drop ride, we will endeavor to keep the group together as long as folks can maintain the average pace, and sitting in/skipping pulls is fine. We will regroup after Lystra and Mt. Olive Church climbs in particular.
One relatively brief rest stop in Saxapahaw, but optional quick bathroom breaks at Frosty's (mile 24.5) and/or Breakaway Cafe (mile 62.8) if needed.

No matter the season, but especially during the summer, please be sure to bring plenty of water and a snack so that you can stay hydrated and refuel as needed.
Helmets are required.

All riders should carry proper equipment in case they have a flat (spare tube, pump or CO2 cartridge). All bicycles should be in proper mechanical order.
It is strongly recommended that you carry your driver's license, health insurance card (or copies), a note containing emergency contact information or Road I.D. in case of an emergency. You may also want to program your cell phone with an emergency contact number under the name "ICE" In Case of Emergency. The note containing emergency contact information may be used if your cell phone becomes inoperable following a crash.
