There are a lot of fitness and walking meetup groups out there, but they are commonly for those who are at least moderately fit. What about the rest of us? Some of us are intimidated by the speed and duration that is planned for those walking groups. This group is for those of us who are starting out to improve their health or have health problems that preclude them from walking at a moderate to fast pace.
I decided to start this group because earlier this year I had a health event and ended up in the hospital for a few weeks. I’m now on supplemental oxygen and need to rebuild my strength and stamina. It’s hard to get the motivation to get on and do this alone. And I’m sure I’m not the only one with similar issues.
Whatever your limitation… recovering from knee surgery, on supplemental oxygen, over weight, etc. ... we’d love to have you join us.
Please arrive at our meeting point at least 5 minutes beforehand so that we can start our walks on time. We don't want to leave anyone behind, but we also don't want to waste people's time.
Your RSVP and attendance on our walks is considered a release of liability for the organizer(s) and Meetup.
