NORTH BRAGG LOOP SNOWSHOE HIKE

This is a loop around North Bragg Creek Hill that takes you to a ridge with veiws. It combines a snow shoe trail with a section of logging road that is used in winter only. This would be a excellant beginner hike because its only 8.1 km. long with only 198M of elevation. It starts out from the West Bragg Creek parking lot, which for those of you who want to drive directly there you follow the West Bragg Ck. sign from the village, head along Balsam Ave. and cross the bridge over the Elbow river. At the T- Junction turn left and head straight west until you dead end at the West Bragg Ck.parking lots. Park at the far side of the lot.I will be leaving the Somerset LRT east lot at 9am.,so anyone needing a ride we can carpool from there. Please indicate on the comments if you will meet at the LRT or the trail head.

What to bring:

Your packpack with lunch and water and any other hiking equipment you use. This time of year we can experience winter conditions so please come prepared with winter gloves and head gear,Gaiters would also be a good idea. After the hike we will meet at the Cinnamon Spoon Cafe for a hot cup of your favourite beverage. If you have any questions or concerns please email me thru the site or contact me by text/phone at 403/818/3790

Thanks to everyone who made it out to the hike.Sorry some of you could not find the carpool or trail head.Sometimes the most difficult part of the hike is finding the trail head.Won't be doing any hikes in the Calgary area for next week since I'm going to Arizona and doing some desert hiking with some Meet Up groups there.....Happy trails

Hi there. I am joining with my wife Elmira and will be at S/B LRT station at 9am. We're in blue Nissan SUV so can give a ride to 2 more no problems! Excited to try out new snow shoes :). See you tomorrow!

I was out there today, Sunday, and snowshoes will be good in some areas. I used micro spikes on the trail as it was packed down. Either will work. Gaiters too.

I was hoping I would be able to hike since I don't have snow shows but that doesn't look like an option so ill have to back out. I'm going to look for some this week so I can join next time. Shopping tips welcome.

I will meet at the LRT and am able to drive. I guess yak tracks are redundant so I'll bring my snowshoes. I was hoping for one for hike of the season but too late I guess. :)

I will not be coming on this hike, but I was out there last Tuesday and did the Moose Loop. Lots of snow!! Bring snowshoes and gaiters. One member of our group did not bring snowshoes and it was not easy for that person. There is at least 14-18 inches of snow. I will be out there this Tuesday again and looking forward to a good snowshoe trail. Enjoy the day, everyone.

I don't think there will be enough snow for snowshoing, unless we get a big dump in the next few days,so just bring your winter boots and gaiters would be a good idea.
