"simply one of the best back-country hikes for photographers. You end up at a huge year-round spring sheltered by dense forest, with logs artfully draped across its rocky falls. The trees soften the light and make it a comfortable (and beautiful!) place year-round.
The day will include on and off trail snowshoeing, so be prepared to participate in breaking trail.
What to bring: 2 liters of water plus snacks and lunch...hiking boots or winter boots...snowshoe and poles...appropriate clothing (BE PREPARED for sun, snow, wind)...First Aid Kit
More info on equipment: Getting ready for snowshoein (http://www.meetup.com/Slow-and-Steady-Hikers/pages/Getting_ready_for_snowshoeing/)g
