Developmental Presentation for Potential & Current Organizers

  • Mar 27, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

If you love getting out on trips, enjoy being with other like-minded hikers on different types of outdoor activities. WE WANT YOU!

We will be hosting an information session for our Club members who might be interested in becoming a Slow & Steady Club organizer and for current organizers.

This briefing will cover the process we use to plan and execute trips, regardless of event type, destination and difficulty level.

We will cover topics such as:

• Trip Planning

• Organizer’s responsibilities

• Organizer’s additional equipment

• Trip concerns

• Resources available

• Requirements to become an organizer within Slow & Steady Hikers Club

This is a free presentation for any club member to attend.

We have observed within Slow & Steady Hiking Club many hikers who have potential to become organizers in the near future and with hiking season fast approaching, our club and its members would benefit if we enlisted new organizers to lead more trips.

Date & Time: Thursday 27 March 2014 from 7-9 PM

Location:

General Waters Building (Building with Flags. Second floor)

4225D Crowchild Trail SW Calgary

Driving Directions:
Follow Crowchild Trail to Flanders Ave SW, turn West on Flanders to Caen Ave, follow it to 4-way stop, turn South on Quesnay Wood Drive and immediately turn North  through gate compound. If you end up at Wild Rose Brewery, you have gone too far.

Muchas gracias for the presentation Oscar. Thanks too for keeping us on target and on time in the meeting. As a neophyte to S&S it brought clarity to what roles and responsibilities are involved, along with the processes to become an organizer.

This was great Oscar. A well thought out presentation and great group participation made for an enjoyable evening. It was a great refresher for the organizers who attended and an awesome intro for our organizers to be. It was good to have the feedback we had from everyone and the ideas that were presented. Let's do this again.
