What we're about

Move Smarter, not Harder! This group is about discovering freedom and vitality through mindful exploration of our bodies. It is about discovering our deeply seated life habits and learning to see things anew. It is about healing by fostering mind-body connection, following a unique method called Awareness Through Movement®, originated by Dr. M. Feldenkrais (http://www.feldenkrais.com). This gentle yet powerful method offers something for different groups of people.
1. People with pain, especially chronic pain, often report relief of pain and also tension and stress associated with it. People (re)learn to be more comfortable in their bodies, no matter their condition.
2. People with stress learn to let go of tension in their bodies in a smooth, organic fashion, and rediscover ease and vitality inherent in our natural state. It works great as a grounding for those living "in their heads" or "a short distance away from their bodies".
3. Creative types often experience a jump in their creative force. Performers can improve their stage presence and overcome repetitive stress injuries.
4. Athletes can improve their energy and sports performance through a more integrated use of their bodies and freedom from excess tension.
5. Those into personal growth are likely to experience a new state of presence, mind-body connection and integration. This method works well with healing past traumas and integrating aspects of personality.

Dmitry has trained professionally in Feldenkrais for 3 years.

This weekly class involves a guided meditation and exploration of our bodies through movement. It is very safe and accessible for virtually everyone. Suggested donation $10, no one turned away for lack of funds.
