• Monthly Smutty Book Club - Raine by Elizabeth Amber (Lords of the Satyr Book 2)

Thank you to everyone that came to May's Smutty Book Club. We were a small but mighty group. If you weren't there, then you missed the big surprise! First we discussed the book Night Shift by Joanna Angel. Then we Skyped with the author and legendary porn star herself, Joanna Angel! Thank you Rina for setting that up! And Thank you Joanna Angel for taking the time to talk with us. Joanna was so nice and very funny. And she has a shih tzu, so you know she's cool. Joanna really loved Erin's flow chart of the different stories. Joanna was asked by the publisher to write another erotic choose your own adventure book- so stay tuned for the next one. Hopefully she takes Tegan's advice to make some of the choices the kind of sexual experience the characters will have. Thank you Erin for recommending May's book (Night Shift) and for organizing the fundraising raffle of three books from the publisher, Cleis Press (don't go to their website at work - my company flagged it). Shy won a signed copy of Night Shift. Rina won Legends of Lust a book of erotic mythology. She really wanted it until she read the first paragraph, then she wanted to give it back. Sharika won a misogynistic book called Marriage Training. She made fun of it until she read the first chapter, now we're pretty sure she's reading it right now. The book for June was recommended by Shy. Are you shocked? We were! The book is Raine by Elizabeth Amber. This is the second book in The Lords of Satyr Series. We read book one about a year ago, but they stand alone. These are the dudes with two penises (or is it peni?). And this is the book everyone keeps talking about - yes, it's the one with the hermaphrodite. So now we get to officially discuss it. Happy Reading! Here's what the publisher says: "As A Lover, His Skills Are Legendary. . . The middle brother, Raine, is both sensual and stoic. Scarred by once taking a wife who could not accept his carnal needs, he wants no part in another marriage. But duty commands that he fulfill his promise to wed King Feydon's second daughter, Jordan. . . But In Matters Of The Heart, He Has Much To Learn. . . The loyal satyr begins a search that leads him from Tuscany to romantic Venice, where his beautiful bride awaits, unaware of what passionate delights fate has planned for her. Raine is careful not to reveal his powerful satyr sexuality, for fear of driving yet another woman away. But unbeknownst to him, Jordan is no ordinary woman and was born with an insatiable appetite for love. And as Raine's heart begins to melt for her, how long will he be able to hide his true nature when Jordan seems to want him so fiercely?" As Janice pointed out a true democracy requires choices. So please bring your book recommendations next month. And I promise to FINALLY update the drinks specials. See you at Smutty Book Club!

  • Monthly Smutty Book Club - Night Shift by Joanna Angel

Thank you to everyone that came to March's Smutty Book Club! April's book is a Choose Your Own Adventure erotic story! It's recommended by Erin. She says there are about five different stories to choose from, she read them all, and there is something for everyone... except hermaphrodites, there are not hermaphrodites. Ever since that satyr book somebody asks about hermaphrodites... this time it was Helen. Worth noting is the author, Joanna Angel, is an award winning porn actress, director and writer. Apparently in her repertoire is a Walking Dead parody and an Evil Dead parody (Evil Head). Ha! I think we're gonna like this book. Here's what the publisher say about Night Shift by Joanna Angel: "Taryn Joyner never thought much about sex and never in her wildest dreams imagined that she'd wind up working in an 'adult' store for a living. But that's exactly where she is at 25 years old, starting a night job at Dreamz, Tampa, Florida's premiere porno shop. Surrounded by dildos, handcuffs, and latex clothes, Taryn isn't sure what to make of her new surroundings, not to mention the wacky store owner who parades around in lingerie, but then a familiar face walks into the store and her world begins to change… Now you can guide Taryn through her "sexploration" as she discovers the amazing things that Dreamz, and its customers, have to offer. Will she have a steamy one-night stand with a lesbian toy seller? Will she learn the finer points of vibrator masturbation? Will she teach a tantric sex class? And most importantly, will she learn to open herself to the full realm of possible sexuality? The choice is yours!" See you at Smutty Book Club!

  • Monthly Smutty Book Club - Mona Lisa Awakening by Sunny

Thank you to everyone that came to March's Smutty Book Club. Welcome new members Z and Julie! March was a bitter sweet Smutty Book Club, because it was Kristen's last meeting. She is off to Philadelphia. According to Urban Dictionary, "People not from Philadelphia claim the inhabitants are the worst in the country, however if you are a local you would never want to live anywhere else." Kristen we miss you already. I look forward to attending Philadelphia Smutty Book Club! (Coming Fall 2019 we hope!) Now the moment you've all been waiting for... since I'm posting this two weeks late. After a close vote April's book is Mona Lisa Awaking by Sunny. This book is recommended by Sharika. She says it is about a species that are kind of like vampires - they can only move around at night. She called them Hybrid Moon People. There are queens in their species that need to grow their magical powers. The book has 3.75 stars from Good reads, and the comments are pretty brutal. Here's what the publisher says: "From the time she was a child, Mona Lisa knew she was different-but she never knew how different until a man of otherworldly beauty appeared during her night shift in the ER. Gryphon is hurting and hunted and he attracts her as no man ever has before. He is a Monère, one of the children of the moon-and what's more, so is she. Long exiled from the moon, the men of the Monère serve-and mate-with imperious Queens who can channel the rays of their far-off homeland. Gryphon believes that Mona Lisa is a Queen- perhaps the first of Mixed Blood ever known. But her introduction to the nighttime court of the Monère, simmering with intrigue, casual lust, and calculated cruelty, is far from smooth. The other Queens are infuriated by her potential powers, and they are all menaced by a group of rogue males who have broken away from the women's sway. Even as she battles threats from within and without, Mona Lisa is determined to discover who she is, and to explore the limits of her growing power-and her secret desires." Happy reading! See April 2nd at Smutty Book Club!

  • Monthly Smutty Book Club - Nauti Boy by Lora Leigh

Thank you to everyone that came to February's Smutty Book Club. Welcome to new member Liz. March's Smutty Book is recommended by Janice: Nauti Boy by Lora Leigh. This is the first book in the series. There is a lot of sharing and anal in this book. A Marine has returned home to Kentucky but before he can continue the naughty games that got him his nick name, he must rescue his girl from the attentions of a stranger. Here's what the publisher says: First in a trilogy that crosses the boundaries of erotic fiction-from the bestselling author of Megan's Mark. Too weak to resist young Kelly Benton's attempts at seduction, Rowdy Mackay left home eight years ago. Duty as a U.S. Marine put a safe distance between temptation and the nubile Kentucky vixen. Now he's back home and ready to engage in the kind of erotic games that have earned him and his two cousins a Nauti-boy reputation in three counties. Once it was Kelly's dream too-to feel the heat of the boy she desired. But an attack from a stalker still on the prowl has left Kelly terrified of a man's touch. Now as fear and desire converge, Rowdy fights to save her from the deadly threats of a stranger, to rid her of her demons, and to satisfy a hunger more powerful than either can imagine. https://www.amazon.com/Nauti-Boy-Trilogy-Book/dp/0425214133 Happy reading! • Monthly Smutty Book Club - Scandalous Lovers by Robin Schone

Thank you to everyone that came to January's Smutty Book club! Welcome new members Lola, Rachel, and Rina! Remember our party is this Saturday in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn. Please contact Dawn for the address. Rina wants to let remind everyone about the Erotica Open Mic in Astoria from 8:30pm to 10pm at www.QEDAstoria.com,[masked]rd Avenue, Queens (Astoria). Many comedians and authors are expected. February's book is recommended by Mary: Scandalous Lovers by Robin Schone. Scandalous Lovers is a period book that takes place in the 1800s. It involves a couple in their 50s. One is a widow. They've lived life, they are living life. Mary says it feels more real than the other books we have read. Here's what the publisher says: While visiting a famous London museum, Frances Hart accidentally wanders into a meeting of the Men and Women's Club, which gathers at the museum to discuss sex. Intrigued by Frances' forthright answers when she is questioned on the subject of a woman's right to pleasure, barrister James Whitcox insists that Frances join the club. What begins as a philosophical discussion soon becomes a hands-on study of desire when James convinces Frances to indulge in a scandalous liaison. But neither one expected their temporary affair would ever turn into love. Schone is known for her boldly sensual writing, and Scandalous Lovers is no exception. The sizzling affair between Frances, a refreshingly older heroine, and James is captured in vivid detail, but Schone also gives readers some surprisingly nuanced characterization and an expertly evoked Victorian setting. Libraries where authors like Susan Johnson, Cheryl Holt, and Emma Holly are popular will want to add Schone's latest scorchingly hot historical to their collections. See you in February at Smutty Book Club!

  • Monthly Smutty Book Club - Captive in the Dark by CJ Robert

Thank you to everyone who came to October’s Smutty Book Club! Thank you to Martina and everyone at Jack Demsey’s for giving us a home for the past year! And thank you to Geraldine for your first day as our waitress. We hope we didn’t scare you away! Welcome new members! Kate from Brooklyn Smutty Book Club who traveled over the bridge to join us! Mike from Beer Fest, who is really Tiffany and Helen’s friend! Ophir from Israel who has only been in New York for a month and a half – you found the right group to hang with! New business: Erin had so much fun throwing weapons at the RenFest, so stay tuned for an archery event listed by Erin for November. We’re going to Gotham Archers in Brooklyn (because Brooklyn is cheaper than Manhattan). It will be $35 for an hour lesson. Next month’s book is recommended by Audra and Lesley1. Captive in the Dark by CJ Robert. This is a human trafficking book, but it’s a really interesting story. Audra says, “Yes 80% of the book club, will not like the book at first. Please keep reading, push through. Audra and Lesley say that even if you don’t like the book you will have a lot to say about it. This is about a young girl who is 18 years old in a family that is 'overlooked' (meaning poor and violent). It also deals with the sex trade, human trafficking, revenge, and a bit of Stockholm aspect." Here’s what the publisher says: BOOK ONE OF THE DARK DUET: Caleb is a man with a singular interest in revenge. Kidnapped as a young boy and sold into slavery by a power-hungry mobster, he has thought of nothing but vengeance. For twelve years he has immersed himself in the world of pleasure slaves searching for the one man he holds ultimately responsible. Finally, the architect of his suffering has emerged with a new identity, but not a new nature. If Caleb is to get close enough to strike, he must become the very thing he abhors and kidnap a beautiful girl to train her to be all that he once was. Eighteen-year-old Olivia Ruiz has just woken up in a strange place. Blindfolded and bound, there is only a calm male voice to welcome her. His name is Caleb, though he demands to be called Master. Olivia is young, beautiful, naïve and willful to a fault. She has a dark sensuality that cannot be hidden or denied, though she tries to accomplish both. Although she is frightened by the strong, sadistic, and arrogant man who holds her prisoner, what keeps Olivia awake in the dark is her unwelcome attraction to him. WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, dubious consent, strong language, and graphic violence. https://www.amazon.com/Captive-Dark-Duet-Book-ebook/dp/B005JZHN8S/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1538529662&sr=1-2&keywords=captive+in+the+dark+by+cj+roberts Smutty Book Club!
