Sno-King Psychotherapists is for licensed mental professionals (mental health counselors, psychologists, licensed social workers, marriage and family therapists etc.) that are currently practicing in or around the Seattle/Snohomish county area. This group is about building up our professional community and also about growing personally and accessing self-care through a supportive group of colleagues. It is a place where therapists can pose questions to colleagues about training, resources, challenges in the work etc. There will be regular in-person gatherings where therapists can come together and discuss relevant issues, share information we have learned at recent trainings, network, have ethics roundtables, host therapy related book clubs, attend and post events related to self-care and personal growth ...basically anything that allows us to share information, gain support and grow personally and professionally. The Intention of this group is to build a professional community with fellow therapists from a variety of backgrounds, and disciplines. Many of us are part of professional associations or consult circles where we connect with colleagues who share our theoretical orientation/worldview/specialty etc. My hope is to create a space where we can learn from many diverse perspectives and also meet clinicians who practice in areas and disciplines outside of our own expertise. This will hopefully provide each of us with rich resources so that we can broaden our knowledge and referral base, and sense of community.
