2615 West Casino Road, Unit 1B, Everett, WA
We invite all to our robotics club meeting. We will meet at least once a month, almost always on the first Saturday of the month at 10 AM.
== SPECIAL FOCUS: DEEP LEARNING ==
The keynote for this month's meeting will be a presentation on Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence by Earl Canfield and Rob Trahms. They'll give us an overview of this fascinating technology and demonstrate how a webcam connected to a Deep Learning neural net can identify objects on sight-- people, cats, dogs, chairs, cars, etc.-- anything it's been trained for. (Even pictures of those objects on paper or a monitor!)
And we will all discuss the implications of this for us, as roboticists.
Please be sure to RSVP for this meeting! Given our limited facilities, we need to carefully plan the logistics.
This meeting will be immediately followed by a nitty-gritty, hands-on robotics project workshop (a separate meetup event)
Between meetings, please visit and participate in our web presence:
* http://robotics.snocomakers.com Our wiki - a lot of background and technical detail
* https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/snoco-robotics Discussions (Google group)
* http://www.snocomakers.club/viewforum.php?f=15 Bulletin board - general robotics info that will be useful for quite a while
... if you get some nugget of value out of this meetup we hope you'll consider becoming a member of SnoCoMakers or donating to help us pay rent.
We'd love for you to put on a technicial presentation. Please contact Don or Charles if you're willing.
