Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park Camping Trip!!! 🏕️🏕️🏕️🏕️🏕️ pitch a tent!
Are you ready to visit another awesome National Park? We are visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks the weekend of June 29. Let's go and spend a few days in the wilderness (well, there are stores and shower nearby...). What's nice about our campsite is that there are NO other campsites right next to us; we are by ourselves. In addition, we are within a skip and a hop to shower (few dollars), a restaurant and a convenience store. This is a perfect campground to be! We do have to deal with tiger, lions and bears..... okay, maybe just the bears. This is definitely bear country but, no worries, let's make sure we put our food (and anything scented) in the bear boxes at the campsite. I will send more info regarding bears and food storage (below is a photo of a bear we saw on a hiking trail a couple of years ago). We've had a lot of fun at our past trips to Sequoia - to get an idea of past trips check out the photos and read what people had to say about our prior Sequoia trips. This is for the campground and some food and drinks. We will cook dinner on Friday and Saturday. In the morning, there will be hot water for coffee and oatmeal. There will also be pastries :) There are several convenient places to pick up lunch! Let's roll up your sleeping bag, dust off your tent, have a cushy air-mattress along with your hiking attire and let's hang out the beautiful National Park. Don't forget your bug spray, sun screen and lounge chair. Of course, bring some money to buy sandwiches for lunch or to shower. You can arrive at the campsite anytime after 4 pm on Friday. Sequoia is close enough that you can head up after work on Friday and arrive 5 hours later (Or if you want, leave LA early Friday and get a jump start on exploring the park). We will leave the campground Sunday morning. You can head straight home or see more sights. :) Join us on for a great weekend in Sequoia National Park. Transportation: I will help coordinate carpool for the confirmed attendees. Carpool departure times/locations are set by drivers. • What to bring A full list will be provided a week or two before the trip. But basically you need to bring your personal amenities and tent, sleeping bag air mattress etc. We will be close enough to civilization that you can pick up anything you forgot. Restaurants are close by too. :) • Important to know This event is cross-posted on over 20 meetup groups with Mix Professionals (www.MixProfessionals.com) being the main meetup. Therefore I need to centralize all the confirmed attendees in one group. In order to lock in your spot you MUST RSVP and submit payment via my main meetup group by going here: https://www.meetup.com/mixprofessionals/events/243301909/ You are not confirmed for the trip until you RSVP via the main group AND submit payment.

What we're about

Let's go outdoors. Snowboard and ski in the winter and hiking and camping in the summer. Are you adventures and looking for friends to do various outdoor activities with. We are too. We started as a snowboarding group but have now ventured into outdoor adventures and more! We love winter sports and enjoy summer adventures as well. When there is snow, we hit up the slopes. In warmer months, we keep up the fun through hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing and other outdoor adventures.

If you don't snowboard or ski, want to learn or enjoy outdoor adventures, we welcome you too!

Get ready to meet with local snowboarders and adventurers! Feel free to post trips & plan event with other snowboarders and outdoors enthusiasts via the message board or email. We will also meet up now & then to share boarding and outdoors stories & ideas about resorts, vacations, equipment, etc. We will do happy hours, social networking and other fun things too!

*We snowboard and/or ski in Mammoth. If not Mammoth, we do local trip such as Mt. Baldy and Big Bear Mountain (Snow Summit and Bear Mountain). We don't discourage venturing to Vail, Aspen, Park City, Whistler, etc. The possibility is endless. Join us. If you are fun, adventurous, love the snow and the outdoors and cool adventures, and enjoy social networking, we welcome you! :)

We are getting ready for our first snowboarding/skiing trip of the year. Are you itching to go snowboarding or skiing? I sure am. I can't wait! Snowboarding. Yeppy!

Mammoth Mountain opens November 8 just in time for the three-day Veterans Day Weekend and we will be there! This will be the third season we have been going as a group and I must say that we have had a ton of fun and made great friends. What I really like about our trips is that the people who go are all great people looking to hang out on and off the slopes!

We have a luxurious condo for the three day weekend. And did I mention the food? Included with the trip are dinners... not frozen pizza, canned soup and microwaved fishsticks, but yummy cooked dinners such as tri-tip, rack of lamb, fresh veggies and dessert!

I checked Mammoth's website and they have season passes on sale until November 10. After that the price will probably double! If you get a pass while it's on sale you can definitely make good use of it on this and other trips we are planning

!

If you don't think you want to ski or snowboard the entire weekend, there is still plenty of cool stuff to do. Ever been to Mono Lake and seen the tufas? It's like you're on another planet! Ever hiked into a volcano crater? Or what about hotsprings? Who doesn't like hotsprings?
