Science Cafe Venue suggestions: San Diego

Hello members!

SoCal Science Cafe is partnering with the San Diego Chapter of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society, to expand into the San Diego area!  We are gearing up to produce our own fun, informal events where we have food and drink in an informal restaurant, bookstore, or coffeehouse, to get our questions answered by a scientist on topics both ripped from the headlines and from your favorite field of study.  We want to bring 'ordinary people from the real world' and 'geeks from the ivory tower' together in a setting where it doesn't resemble 'college' or 'boring society meetings,' but instead where it's also 'fun,' and 'relaxed.'

But, we need your help, being that SoCal Science Cafe -- already well established in Orange County and LA -- is new in town in San Diego.

Reply to this email with the name and address of your favorite Central San Diego, East County, and North County restaurants, bookstores, and coffeehouses that you would love to attend an informal science event for adults and kids at.

It can be either a chain location, such as a Barnes & Noble that you love to hang out in, or a Indie place that might have a use for increased traffic.  Either way, we are very much interested in hearing your ideas!

Just hit 'Reply' on this message to send us your suggested venue.  There are no wrong answers and this is not a test.  We just want to hear your ideas!
