  • Jun 9, 2012 · 8:15 AM
  • The Digital Media Center

MediaProCamp'12 FREE June 9th

MCA-i's signature event, MediaProCamp, sponsored by Panasonic for the second consecutive year is again FREE to media pros who pre-register on line!

MediaProCamp is really an all-day (9:00 to 3:00 pm) series of roundtable discussions among working media professionals.

The idea is that no one is an expert on everything and yet we all have valuable expertise and experience to share.

The result is a dynamic, unpredictable fun experience of problem-solving, sharing and networking among expert professionals!

As you will see by our video it is a very special day that literally every working pro gets value from! http://www.mcai-oc.org/

Here are some of the Special Features you can expect at our 2012 MediaProCamp on June 9th:
________________________________________
Doorprizes: We’re gathering number of professional services and products to raffle off. Again this year Adobe has offered us their new CS6 post production software package to give away to one lucky attendee!

And Colin Smith Smith, a noted Adobe trainer, best-selling author and award-winning new-media designer, will be holding a training session on CS6. Colin is also founder of the world’s most popular Photoshop resource site, www.PhotoshopCAFE.com which boasts over three million visitors.

Panasonic is in the process of arranging for a filmmaker-cinematographer to speak to us about what we can expect from the many changes in digital videography that have recently affected movie making and other media.

MCA-i's Walter Davis, a producer-director-writer, and generous mentor will be giving a presentation as well. He is also an internet media entrepreneur with several Internet TV and Radio channels currently running. At past MediaProCamps, Mr. Davis enthralled attendees with valuable tips on Utilizing Internet TV for Profit; Mobile Apps; and Making Money On The Web. So you can be sure that his offering at the 2012 MediaProCamp will be interesting and valuable to your media business.

You can expect to meet any number of well-known media pros at the event but it's not about lectures it's about collaborating! Bring YOUR ideas. You may be voted on to make a presentation!

Kudos to MCAI and thanks to Panasonic and everyone else who made it possible for the 3rd or was this the 4th MediaProCamp! With 70+ persons signed up I thought it would be overly crowded, but it was "just right." It was great to share knowledge, tips and make some new professional contacts. Keep your eyes open in September and October for my new ePublications on Final Cut Pro X from Apple ibooks store and Amazon.com. And thanks to everyone who provided such unique and wonderful prizes. What a "great" event. I enjoyed the informative round table discussion format, and
getting to know a "fun" group of talented people, who are passionate about what they do and are willing to share what they know.

Panasonic presentation was very good. Some of the discussion groups were a bit hard to find and might have benefited from a more structured presentation. The spontaneity of the discussion groups was helpful and useful.

MCAI LA/OC Media Pro Camp was fun, informative, and educational. I heard great ideas on how to monetize your Videos and effective media campaigns using COMf5 and Internet TV. Thank you Walter Davis for presenting a dynamite presentation. Thank you John Coleman for creating a fun and informal event for networking, information and education.

There was a bit too much focus on social media, which I do not regard as a production topic, but otherwise was an excellent event. I'm glad that I attended.

Great opportunity to make connections, get current quickly and find out what's coming down the pike next -- in time to catch the wave and not just paddle after it. Great format, well organized. Bernie's keynote about cameras, formats and where the tech is heading was fantastic. Many thanks to Panasonic, Adobe, the SA Digital Media Center and MCAI LA/OC for putting it together.

I had a great time today, connecting with colleagues who are now new friends! It's a great format to learn from each other. I loved being able to make new connections on a variety of levels and topics. It was definitely worth the drive from the top o' the 605!

I found the event to be quite enjoyable this year. Walter's demo on comf5 was very interesting and I enjoyed the basic presentation on tape formats through history by the Panasonic keynote speaker.
