Are you Vegan, or Vegan curious? And if so, for how long?

I have been completely vegan since January 2013 but have been about 99% vegan since 1990 and vegetarian since 1978. Veganism means to me the total end of all animal use as animals are not ours to eat, wear or use in any way.

What area do you live ? If you don't care to mention a city, please share a general area, we'd like to know where to plan events.

Seal Beach

What type of events would float your boat? PotLuck, Dine Out, Educational, Food Demos, Outdoor Activities, Fireside Chats, Food Foraging, I'd love to hear your ideas, this is your group

Restaurant outings are of greatest interest to my partner and me.

What are your FAVORITE Vegan restaurants?

Au Lac (Fountain Valley), Vegilicious and Bodhi Tree (both in Huntington Beach), Ahimsa (Long Beach), The Wheel of Life (Irvine). I have been to Cafe Gratitude in L.A., there is now one open in Newport Beach, haven't been there yet.

Do you have access to, or know of a location that would be great for a SoCalVegan Meetup?

Just the restaurants above. Of course, L.A. is full of vegan restaurants but that means a very long drive!

Introduction

Hi! I'm a retired schoolteacher, longtime resident of Seal Beach, mother of two, grandma of three. I work with the The Adocacy of Veganism Society (WhyVeganism.com) and enjoy handing out leaflets and chatting with people about veganism.

What Sandy W. is saying about this Meetup Group

We have such a great time at all the SoCalVegan events. What a friendly and warm group of people! Many, many thanks to "Lazy Man" (not lazy!) and Alicia for organizing the event. Vegan community is essential to the spread of veganism, which is essential to save nonhuman and human lives, not to mention our planet! We look forward to the next SoCal Vegan get together!
