The Food Bank helps feed more than 200,000 individuals each month. Those served include the working poor, children, seniors on fixed incomes, single parents, the disabled, the homeless and individuals experiencing medical emergencies or recent job layoffs."

"The Natural Products Expo ( is an event where about 4,000 food vendors introduce their new food products to the event attendees (including various grocery stores, restaurants, and other food vendors). After the event, our volunteers will be broken down into smaller teams, and will go from hall to hall, and vendor to vendor to collect the remaining unopened and undamaged food product. This volunteer opportunity is physical in nature, and there will be walking throughout the Convention Center halls and lifting of the food product."

"What to wear: Comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes."

"Age Requirement: All volunteers must be at least 18-years-old. Any volunteers under 18 will be turned away."

Volunteers "are helping Second Harvest collect valuable food items which are ultimately distributed to people in need in our community."

Redundant Reiteration: Signing up here on Meetup is insufficient. Registering with Second Harvest is needed so they know who to expect and can provide parking info and other relevant instructions (where to meet, what time to arrive, etc.).

After registering with Second Harvest, they will provide more info/details (where to park).
