This great local urban bike ride is renamed the BOCA URBAN DOUBLE.
“It's green, great fun, meet people, get some exercise, build strength and endurance, healthy heart, make new friends, loose weight, gain muscle, keep in shape, live longer, live better etc.” This is a well established, great fun, safe urban bike ride. It is very diverse with a little something for everyone!
Currently there is no group leader as such, so everyone takes turns or shares the in the fun and adventure!
Basically there are two groups, a moderately fast group that goes as fast as they want and a fast group that goes as fast as they can. At this time we do not have a leader for under 14mph riders. While we try to stay together within the two groups sometimes things happen that are not within our control. We do make an effort to keep a head count and regroup at various points along the way.
Both groups start at 7pm and meet up at several places along the way. The target end time is around 10pm, sometimes ending earlier.
This ride goes through parks – a paved bike trail – up and down parking garages – over two bridges – around lakes - through neighborhoods and has several rest stops along the way.
We welcome anyone who wants to join in!!
We will cover anywhere from 20 to 35 miles depending on conditions and which group you ride with.
Have a blast and don't get hurt!!! Front and rear lights are required by law and the sun will go down during the ride (in the winter the sun is down when we start). Helmets and eye protection are required by common sense and it is hoped that you do not go down during the ride:-) A spare inner tube is a big plus. Anything else that you bring is a bonus. Your own personal hydration is a must. If you have medical issues please carry info for EMT. My cell phone number is 561-537-0524 . Please load it into your phone is case any problems arise. Let's all make a big effort to start on time @ 7:00.BUT if you are running a little late, please call me Peter at 561-537-0524 .
