Cherry Blossom 90 minute cruise on a nice yacht!

Yep...I found a living social voucher! :) $25 ($50 value) for one ticket to a 90-minute Cherry Blossom Cruise (not the 60 min cruises) on "The Pelican" from Capital Yacht Charters! The Pelican is a modern 64 foot luxury yacht that was custom built by Bluewater Yachts as an ideal vessel for smaller business and social groups. http://capitalyacht.com/sub/fleet.php
This is a very nice boat!
Here's the voucher-grab it before it's gone!:
https://www.livingsocial.com/deals/1043329?ref=email_share&rui=4938295&rpi=151380119
The deal is valid only for tickets between March 22 and April 13, 2014 so I chose 3/29 that way if something happens there's time to reschedule! (they'll let you reschedule if something comes up-but they might charge a fee and its based on availability)

The planting of cherry trees originated in 1912 as a gift of friendship to the People of the United States from the People of Japan. In Japan, the flowering cherry tree, or "Sakura," is an exalted flowering plant. In Washington DC, we have approximately 10 different varieties of these beautiful trees. Departing from the Washington Marina, this cruise takes you south down the Washington Channel to the tip of East Potomac Park (Hains Point.) East Potomac Park has approximately 1,681 Cherry trees with the Yoshino Cherry being the predominant variety. We then turn and head north towards the 14th street bridge complex. Upon reaching the bridges, we will then turn once again and head back to our point of departure. Along the way you will be able to see such sites as the Southwest Washington waterfront, Fort Leslie J. McNair, all the Cherry trees on both sides of East Potomac Park, Anacostia Naval Air Station, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, the Pentagon, the Washington Monument, the Jefferson Memorial and in the distance, the National Cathedral.

I recommend taking the metro (but I always recommend that)

We can look at going somewhere after as well! (Don't we always!) See ya on board!

Remember to:
1. buy the living social voucher https://www.livingsocial.com/deals/1043329?ref=email_share&rui=4938295&rpi=151380119
2. register http://capitalyacht.com/sub/events.php?id=29 (the 90 minute cruise)
3. enter your LS voucher code-its in your LS confirmation email
4. make sure you registered for the right cruise date and time 3/29 2:15pm
5. meet us at the boat by 1:30pm
6. bring a camera and a smile!

BTW when I talked to the young lady that changed my resevation for me, she said that they try to even out the boat reservations across the dates so it allows more room and a better experience (less people on the boats) for the customer-but that they DO open more seats up as the dates draw closer as needed.....so if you wanted to go but were told it's already filled, you still have a chance to get on the desired date/time....just FYI....

To enjoy the Cherry Blossom you need to walk a long water and better weather. This was a nice boat ride with couple nice ladies.

Too many kids again and believe it nor not, I actually like kids. Would have been much nicer if we had dry sunny weather and cherry blossoms. Still worth the $25.

Directions:We are located at the Washington Marina - NOT WHERE THE ODYSSEY OR THE SPIRIT BOATS ARE LOCATED! - Our address is: 1300 Maine Ave. Southwest, near the foot of 15th Street.

By Metro... Go to the Smithsonian station on Blue or Orange line. Exit at U.S. Department of Agriculture (12th and Independence). Walk south on 12th Street to Maryland Ave. Turn right, and continue to the front of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Instead of entering hotel, walk around its left side and proceed down the steps. Continue on the walkway and then cross over the foot bridge towards the large yachts.

Well damn. I tried to buy tickets for my girlfriend and I, but apparently I got the last seat on the 2:15 tour. I contacted the [masked] and will see if what they can do. Worst case she and I get bumped to a different time.

Michael! You rock with all your Living Social deals. I tried to purchase last year, but all the good dates were sold out. I just purchased. Thanks!!!

Thanks :) they help me get off the couch and experience the area a lot more (although they can be addicting)-and if you do stuff at half off then you can do twice as much! :) Looking forward to cruisin with you!
