Yep...I found a living social voucher! :) $25 ($50 value) for one ticket to a 90-minute Cherry Blossom Cruise (not the 60 min cruises) on "The Pelican" from Capital Yacht Charters! The Pelican is a modern 64 foot luxury yacht that was custom built by Bluewater Yachts as an ideal vessel for smaller business and social groups. http://capitalyacht.com/sub/fleet.php
This is a very nice boat!
Here's the voucher-grab it before it's gone!:
The deal is valid only for tickets between March 22 and April 13, 2014 so I chose 3/29 that way if something happens there's time to reschedule! (they'll let you reschedule if something comes up-but they might charge a fee and its based on availability)
The planting of cherry trees originated in 1912 as a gift of friendship to the People of the United States from the People of Japan. In Japan, the flowering cherry tree, or "Sakura," is an exalted flowering plant. In Washington DC, we have approximately 10 different varieties of these beautiful trees. Departing from the Washington Marina, this cruise takes you south down the Washington Channel to the tip of East Potomac Park (Hains Point.) East Potomac Park has approximately 1,681 Cherry trees with the Yoshino Cherry being the predominant variety. We then turn and head north towards the 14th street bridge complex. Upon reaching the bridges, we will then turn once again and head back to our point of departure. Along the way you will be able to see such sites as the Southwest Washington waterfront, Fort Leslie J. McNair, all the Cherry trees on both sides of East Potomac Park, Anacostia Naval Air Station, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, the Pentagon, the Washington Monument, the Jefferson Memorial and in the distance, the National Cathedral.
I recommend taking the metro (but I always recommend that)
We can look at going somewhere after as well! (Don't we always!) See ya on board!

BTW when I talked to the young lady that changed my resevation for me, she said that they try to even out the boat reservations across the dates so it allows more room and a better experience (less people on the boats) for the customer-but that they DO open more seats up as the dates draw closer as needed.....so if you wanted to go but were told it's already filled, you still have a chance to get on the desired date/time....just FYI....
