Let's meet for an evening of classical music on the Esplanade on Wednesday nights, all summer long! People bring their blankets or chairs, food, wine, and families to sit on the lawn on summer evenings to listen to classics and occasionally new works. The Landmarks Orchestra is generally good, occasionally excellent, and the venue is, well, FREE.
For tonight's program, two worlds meet in music inspired by Latin-American song and dance spanning over 150 years. The Landmarks Orchestra joins a "pocket-sized salsa orchestra" featuring musicians from Boston's Latino community. Come out and enjoy the music under the open sky!

I schedule these events for 6:30pm, so we have a chance to meet and socialize before the concert starts--I have a giant 12'x24' blue tarp I will lay out, and will have my meetup button on. (I have to get there by 6, or there is no space available for the tarp, so if you want to come earlier, that's fine too.) Seating space will be first-come-first sit, as it were, and latecomers may have to find their own nearby spot. Be forewarned: The orchestra gets started right at 7pm, so don't be late!
The program for this evening's concert will include:
A Night in the Tropics (Gottschalk) Mambo (Thomas Oboe Lee) The Little Train of the Brazilian Countryman (Villa-Lobos) Huapango (Moncayo) Viaje (Grau)
