11 Beacon Street, Boston, MA
There is no pressure to order, but please bring cash and pay as you go!
Swanky Beacon Hill has a seedy history! Watch this one minute youtube video,
Carrie Nation is somewhat pricey but a great atmosphere, huge, capacity 360, intended to be a re-creation of the pubs before prohibition. Manager Frank is the nicest guy, he is pretty intimidating in size, yet has the heart of a teddy bear.
It's named after Carrie Nation, the symbolic initiator of Prohibition. She and her gang used to go around smashing the windows of pubs with a hatchet. Their motto was, " he whose lips touch wine shall not touch mine".
This is a rolling come and go as you can event. Some folks come just for a drink, others hang out and chat for a few hours. There's good food here too but there is no pressure to order anything.
MBTA to Park St. (green/ Red line), then a pretty short walk up the hill.
Look forward to seeing you again!
